Rosalie Seinstra


The cellist Rosalie Seinstra plays both chambermusic and symphonic music as a member of an orchestra. Together with her colleagues of the Jenufa Quartet she studied at the Nederlandse Strijkkwartet Akademie under the guidance of the cellist Stefan Metz.

Rosalie regularly plays in various other orchestras, for instance the Residentie Orkest, also the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest, the Philharmonie Zuid-Nederland and the Gelders Orkest. She has also played in The Aspen Festival Orchestra. In 2006 she was soloist with the Tilburgs Studenten Symfonie Orkest Ananta.

Rosalie studied at the Utrechts Conservatorium with Elias Arizcuren and in Zwolle with Jeroen Reuling where she obtained her Bachelor Degree. Subsequently she continued her studies at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag with Michael Müller.

Rosalie Seinstra has attended masterclasses and courses with Christopher Bunting (London), Schmuel Maagen en Colin Carr. After her course in 1998 in Valencia with the internationally renowned cellist Yehudi Hanadi, she was invited by him to the Aspen Music Festival in the US in 1999. For this she obtained an American scholarship and a grant from the Fonds voor de Podiumkunsten.

Rosalie is cello-teacher at the Rotterdam Hellendaal Muziekinstituut and the Young Talent Academy of the Rotterdams Conservatorium.
